The Problem

Youth living in the Atlanta Metropolitan area are growing up in under-resourced neighborhoods and within toxic family environments where they are exposed to parents dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues. These issues may cause them to drop out of school or affiliate themselves with gang culture to replace a stable home and family environment. For these reasons, they may have difficulty finishing high school and becoming self-sufficient and emotionally intelligent adults.

The hallmark of a healthy society has always been measured by how it cares for the disadvantaged.

Our Goal

The goal of the Oliver & Griggs Foundation Youth Development and Residential Care program is to provide youth from under-resourced areas within the Atlanta Metro with evidence-based youth development services within a stable family-oriented environment thereby transforming their lives and allowing them to become self-sufficient emotionally intelligent adults.

We cannot always build a future for our youth, but we can always build our youth for the future.
— Franklin D. Roosevelt
